LCI Kitchen: before, after and the process

Here are a few “before” shots of the kitchen I worked on this past year. We kept the antique fixture over the island, stripped the painted floors, and moved the location of the fridge (paneled on the left).

The “before” wall below is to the left of the island in the above shot. We opened up the far right side of the below wall into a storage room and moved the fridge into that area.

I always start with free-hand conceptual drawings.

I wanted to repeat the patterns in the window pane into the tiles on the wall above the range. This is how I envisioned the symmetry of the cabinets..

These windows look out to a gorgeous tree line and back yard, so there is no need for window treatments.

The wall of freestanding cabinets (2nd “before” picture) is about to become a long wall of cabinets with tons of storage.

We moved into the construction drawing phase and began discussions on appliances, fixtures, countertops and cabinets.

Here are the drawings to scale without dimensions,

and some “after” photos of the completed kitchen.

Happy cooking!
