mid-summer check in

Hi friends & readers- It’s been a good summer on my end so I thought I would do a little check in to fill you all in with what we’ve been up to. My husband’s brother got married over Memorial Day weekend. Brooks was the ring bearer and both of the boys were adorable in their tuxedos.

Soon after that we hit the beach for a few days which was a treat,

and we have had lots of wonderful family visits. In June I snuck away with my sister for a few days to go to the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island, SC which is absolutely beautiful and restful. Tim and I had a great weekend getaway in Chicago, and as usual I was enamored with the architecture.

On the work front we have been busy. Anna has been with me now for over two years, and we have a great summer intern who has been a huge help. I am excited that we’ll have a new more permanent set of hands joining Anna and me in late August. We’ve installed two commercial projects, worked on a few residential projects and almost completed a bathroom renovation. Here’s the bathroom in demo mode a few weeks ago…

Yes, that is a sliver of a pink ceiling you see…

Here’s the follow up to my little rope post, you’ll see this house after it is photographed.

This past weekend Tim and I had the pleasure of listening to Rachel Platten perform at the Evening Muse here in Charlotte. Rachel lives in NYC and is one of my sister’s best friends from college. Her debut album is for sale on amazon and on itunes and her song 1,000 Ships is playing on radio stations around the country.  I encourage you to listen (click here ), she is absolutely fanstastic.

We’re getting ready for an exciting photo shoot tomorrow. Thank you for coming back to read my blog, I am so appreciative of your support. I hope you all have been having a great summer too, I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to!
